FANS
dear-ingaDean... My mom had surgery in Montreal in November early December and I did lots of driving back and forth. The one good thing that kept me occupied while I drove by myself was your CD. I am not just saying that. You kept me company on most of my drives down. The CD is one of the best projects that you have done. It is amazing. Excellent work! I hope sales are going well. You deserve it. Darrell.

Hello Traveller,
My favourite song is It's Gone, then Heavy as a Heartache. I find you’re singing the most...”speaking to me”... when I listened to the whole album in one sitting. I found it the most emotionally strong and appealing on those two songs. Liked the photography as well for the colors in particular and layout and overall design of CD....smiles from Jess.
Hey Dean , I love the CD... again! You keep writing them good songs and get
out down here and play them you'll find your audience... just got to work it , what else
do we have to do  but what we want ????, see ya  soon,  Jim Weider.

Dean...The new CD arrived (love the Artwork by the way - perfect!!) I love the track ties, nice graphic.  Open it to the other love of your life...nice bike. Really loved the first song - fantastic.  I like the feel of it and the energy.  Perfect start song Dean.  My 15 year old, who's a competent guitarist really dug it too - that's a crossover as he normally listens to some Heavy stuff.  Good songwriting is Heavy - you proved it on that cut.  I can't wait to dig into it all and absorb your current state of music....great work!!  Morris

Hey Dean...Got home and put your new CD on...there were a few other people in the house...first comment ' HOLY SHIT....WHOSE THAT ??????' Everyone enjoyed the ENTIRE CD and Goodnight Radio is a winner, in fact the whole package is a winner....you're good man and good luck at the
Bearsville...Bob...Keep on keepin' on !!!!

Hi Dean: This album was really easy listening.  I thought that all the songs were inspired, particularly "Lay Me Down" which I have been playing over and over again. Congratulations on a job very well done!! Pat Orme

Hi Dean, We’re  enjoying  listening to your cd.  Your music is thoughtful and easy to
listen to,  it’s obvious you've spent some time honing your craft. Looking at your website I see you've been at this for some time and it  appears it’s been a nice ride. Noting better than to see people
pursuing what they love. Your CD was a pleasant suprise. Perhaps our paths will cross again. Best,  Alice.
"Thank you for the cd... I really gave it a good listen today and I have to say I really like it! If you are ever asked again 'who are you  like?'...you can have them listen to track number 5 'Goodnight Radio' great song masterful very much like John Prine and that is a very very good thing! HUGE compliment! Each song on the cd stands on their own no two sounded the same. It was very much like listening to an album where you would sit down put the vinyl on and listen when side one was over back up you would get to turn it over. There aren't many album sounding cd's out there they just sound like a jumble of songs. BRAVO!! "

Cheers !
Darlene

Hey Dean, I checked out your videos on the website and just when I think you can't get any better, you impress me again. You sang "She Shines Through Me" perfectly - with no back-up to boot, and your new song is phenomenal. I love your latest CD and am quite addicted to it. Hang in there, Dean and keep doing the things that make you happy,
Jamie, Ottawa.

Hey Dean, Hope your well - and your optimism and the tone of surviving the B.S in your news posting made me laugh and say - he's doing fine!!
I occasionally check in and see how the sites going and news on the career, always hoping Running Girl was on their as I love that song and its still sits in my ear - I even play it on guitar and have for some friends. I feel that you have the integrity and talent that can be just enough to add difference to people's hours and moments.  The fact that you write original music and sing it in your honest voice searching for the truth in the words you write...that is always needed and I believe frequently missing in music.  Keep on playing and there are true heroes out there that do recognize, support and work with artists to eventually get them recognition. Your voice will always stand out as one of the best I've ever heard! Morris

Hey Dean, Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your show last week! Your beauty and talent is personified in your music!

Dear Dean,
On behalf of Family of Woodstock, Inc., I would like to offer a belated but heartfelt thank you for the wonderful benefit concert which you participated in at the Emerson Restaurant in Woodstock on Saturday, August 25.  Although we had to overcome beastly heat and too many competing events the same day¸ it was truly a fabulous concert.  Every act was great and those there had a terrific time.  Your generosity helped raise an incredible $3,000. to support Family’s programs.

Hey Dean, Thanks again for playing for us at the Old Mill. The benefit raised over $7,500 for the Allen family and much of it is thanks to you and your kind help. You have a great gift and your new CD is jammed with tasty gems that stay with you long after the glow of your performance has passed…in other words, I'm having trouble getting "We will not be Broken" out of my head...Well done and thanks again. Looking forward to seeing and hearing you again, Stay well.
Cheers, Jean Pignal

Hi Dean
We were at the Ashton Pub last night at the benefit and we caught your show. It was the first time that my wife and I saw your show -  what an entertainer - music was unbelievable. I  was the guy that bought you a couple of drinks. After listening to you I would have bought you drinks all night. We got home and I put on the CD - what a great array of music. I see that you are in Ottawa on the 16th - we will be there to see you again. Thank you for the excellent evening and the very best of luck in the future.

Hi there Dean.
I'm so excited you finally offered a new CD.
It is so well loved in my house that myself and my 8 year old were both singing along within a couple of times listening to it since we got it January 19th.
I really enjoy it and since I've now seen this is your 5th CD, I guess I better go buy another one or 2 of the first 4! My birthday is in April and I always get new music from my husband.
I will watch out for your Ottawa shows and try and get out with a couple of buddies.  Love live music!
Andrea O, Ottawa

Hi Dean
We have just finished listening to your wonderful CD.  Even for 60 some year olds like my husband and I it was easy listening.  In fact, it brought back many memories of those sing-a-long days of the 60's!!!  You are very talented and deserve all the best.
Regards,
Pat O, Ottawa, ON

Hi Dean,
I saw you play in Woodstock last summer and though it was not easy, I just found your website. I’ve done a bit of looking around ...it looks like you’re “ready to go”.  Hopefully your Feedback page is ready to go as well, because once the new CD is out there, you will certainly be getting lots of it...all positive.  I look forward to listening to my own copy; and if I could be so bold as to offer you some song-writing advice, here it is:  Keep doing what you’re doing - it’s a rare gift that you have there! Feel free to use any part of my feedback if you wish.
Angela, Kingston, NY

Although I had heard of you before, this summer at the Riverside Jam Music Festival in Carleton Place, Ontario was the first time I saw you play.  Right away, I knew you had something special.  Your singing, guitar playing, stage presence and genuine joy of performing a largely cover based set was infectious and the crowd loved you.
Since then, I’ve followed your career a little more closely and have realized that your true gifts lie in songwriting and performing your original material. Being one of the lucky few to access an advance copy of your newest CD, Love That Shine, I can truly say it is one of those rare moments where talent, timing, energy and commitment have come together to create a beautiful and pure thing.  The first time I listened to it I was intrigued, by the hundredth I was addicted.  Everyone who hears this CD will love it.
Your website (looks great by the way – visually appealing, easy to navigate for those non-techies amongst us, lots of fun pictures) gives great insight into you and the unswerving dedication you have given to your craft.  Great things truly come to those who wait, but I think the world has waited long enough!  Go on and shine - you deserve nothing less!
Lisa from Ottawa

Dean -  I really enjoyed the two tunes you have on
here from your newest CD - great stuff. I really like "She Shines Through Me" - great tune. Your voice reminds me of The Wallflowers singer on that one. Anyway, I'm browsing around on there and notice a pic of Jim Weider. Wow, colour me impressed, he's one of my favourite guitarists. I play guitar in a band too, and I'm a member of a telecaster discussion forum (tdpri) - Jim Weider is one of the big heroes over there, with his collection of beautiful teles from the 50s. Must have been great to have Jim play on your record. Anyway, that's it. Just wanted to say hi and let you know that I enjoyed the tunes.
Derek, Ottawa, ON.

Dear Dean.....I received a copy of your new CD from Santa and from it found your website. I've listened to it many times now and have decided, [I hope you see this as a compliment, because it's intended as one] ... you're a cross between John Prine and Gordon Lightfoot - two of my favorites! Will you be playing in the Kingston area soon? Looking forward to seeing you live.
Audrey, Kingston, ON.

"Dean Batstone has depth with words that I haven't seen in a long time! I enjoy working with such great songs!"
Jim Weider - '07

Well, well, well...SWB you've done us proud!! So looking forward to getting your new CD in my XMas stocking, made a special request to Santa!! The tracks are terrific and your voice as usual is enchanting, Dean. Looking forward to your next live performance and perhaps sharing a mike with you again sometime soon!!!!
Julia. Ottawa

Dean,
You have a magical gift. I had a listen to your new songs and all I can say is "where can I buy my copy".   A definite Lyrical Wonderland. You put a lot of heart into your music and it shines through. Congratulations.  If you need a roadie, I am ready to go on tour with you.  I can't wait to crank it up at home once I get home from work.  Will this CD appear in stores and if not where can I buy a copy?
Darrell, Ottawa, ON

I saw you at Whispers in Ottawa a while ago and you were amazing! My brother and I were really impressed with the original style of your music and your words. It’s a rare thing these days to find a singer/songwriter like you; we were thrilled. In fact, we stayed all evening at the bar because you put on such a great show. Thanks for that! Now that I’ve found your website I can send it to my brother in San Francisco so he can read up on you, too. If you’re ever in California, you will be a sure hit. I can’t wait to hear your new CD. I’ve already got a list of friends I’ll be sending it to, but mostly I’ll be watching your website to see when your gigs come up so I can bring folks out to see you. Thanks again!
