‘Til I Die      Back

Beneath my feet these rails of steel

Front row grin with missing teeth

Tequila Rose in faded jeans

Washed in dirty blues and greens

Steal I time or Steel-eye Jane

Steal I kisses on this train

I can’t steel you, though I’ve tried

So I’ll dream you ‘til I die

Hold the bottle, hold the blade

Hold one promise I have made

I can’t hold you, still I’ve tried

So I’ll dream you ‘til I die

Through the window, speeding glass

You’re a freeze frame from my past

Lines on faces born from pain

Leather cracked from sun and rain

All you young James Dean’s who crashed

Live forever in these cracks

I can’t live you, though I’ve tried

So I’ll dream you ‘til I die

Through the broken timberline

Comes the sun, son, let it shine….

Hear the distant church bell toll

Trying to call back one lost soul

I can’t pray you to my side

So I’ll dream you ‘til I die

Love the falling, love the rise

Love the shadows, love that shine

Love this beauty, love you mine

I will love you ‘til I die.
